Earlier this month, CancerCare hosted its 17th Annual Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp for families who recently lost a loved one to cancer, in Mount Pocono, PA.

As the chill of winter sets in, we reflect on the impact of our annual programs that bring warmth and joy to many lives.

On November 16, the Long Island community participated in a family-friendly 5K walk at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course, in Woodbury, NY, to honor their loved ones and raise funds to support CancerCare.

From May 30 to June 1, 2025, CancerCare’s 16th Annual Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp welcomed families who have recently lost a loved one to cancer to Memorytown USA in Mount Pocono, PA. 17 families and 27 children aged 4-15 attended from states including New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Washington.

On November 17, over 200 people participated in a family-friendly 5K walk at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course, in Woodbury, NY, to honor their loved ones and raise funds to support CancerCare.

Families who have recently lost a loved one to cancer came together at Memorytown USA in Mount Pocono, PA for CancerCare’s 15th annual free Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp from June 7-9, 2024.

On November 5, 2023, more than 200 individuals gathered at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury, NY, for CancerCare’s 20th Lung Cancer Walk for Hope.

As we launch this year’s Do Something campaign, we wanted to share a story about a group of young men who are doing something in memory of their friend: In Fairfield, Connecticut, a group of childhood friends shared an unbreakable bond with Ryan Van Zandt, who was “anything but boring and knew how to entertain those around him,” shared Ryan’s friend, Conor. From childhood to his early twenties, His contagious smile, humor and kindness endeared him to everyone who met him.
